The NBA has a lot of big stars not in the Hall of Fame. Jordan was enshrined last Year and the NFL enshrined Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith this year. these are the men who I would enshrine for 2010.
Dennis Johnson 3x NBA Champion, finals MVP, 5x NBA All-Star
Dennis is arguably the best NBA player not in the hall of fame. he led Seattle to a championship, and helped Boston get two. most point guards who played with Bird and Mchale didn’t know when to shoot and when to pass. Johnson took a shot when he was open. he was a great defender and made some great passes. Johnson and Bird had great chemistry, I’m not a Celtics fan, but I love watching Dennis Johnson play the game.
Bernard King 4x All-Star, 1x NBA scoring leader, All-Rookie first team (1978)
Bernard King was an amazing college player. He really helped the New York Knicks and was an amazing shooter. King was good from his trip from high school to the NBA. He was always a star and should definitely be put in the hall of fame. He is fun to watch, and though his name might be forgotten, it was huge in the 80′s.
Jo Jo White 2x NBA Champion, Finals MVP
Jo Jo White was drafted when Bill Russell retired. White had to re-build the C’s and managed to get them 2 championships and get himself a finals MVP. When I first heard his name I thought he was the star of the Lakers, which just goes to show he was no Bill Russell, but I think he is underrated now, if even remembered. If he is not remembered, his number is still retired, and shouldn’t a player with aretired number in Boston be in the hall of fame?
Mark Price 4x All-Star, 2x 3pt Shootout winner
How can the best guard, passer, and 3 point shooter in Cleveland history not be in the hall of fame. That would be insane! he reminds me of John Stockton and Steve Nash. He is my favorite point guard in the history of the NBA, more than Magic! He was an incredible shooter and an amazing passer, it would be a crime not to put him in the hall of fame.
Karl Malone 2x MVP, 13x All-Star, 2x All-Star MVP
Who can forget John Stockton and Karl Malone? Though the duo never won a championship, they made arguably one of the top ten duos of all time. Malone was amazing. He was a great rebounder, defender and scorer, as a matter of fact, only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar had more points in a career than Malone. You just cant argue that Malone is not a future hall of famer.
