Texas beat undefeated Kansas 74-63

Kansas won 69 straight home games spanning over four years. But 70 was too big of a number. The tenth ranked Texas Longhorns upset the second ranked Kansas Jayhawks 74-63. For Texas J’Covan Brown scored 23 points and Jordan Hamilton scored 17 while on Kansas’ side Tyrel Reed scored 17 and Marcus Morris scored 16. Texas is now 16-3 and Kansas falls to 18-1.

The first ranked Ohio State Buckeyes won again beating twenty-second ranked Illinois 73-68. Jared Sullinger led the Buckeyes in scoring with 27 points and grabbed 16 rebounds while Jon Diebler scored 15 points. Jereme Richmond of Illinois scored 18 and Mike Tisdale scored 15. Illinois led 34-33 at the half but were out scored 40-34 in the second half. Ohio State is now 20-0 and 7-0 in the Big-10 and Illinois is 14-6 and 4-3 in the Big-10.

Seventh ranked Villanova gave Syracuse their second straight loss in an 82-73 road win. Villanova guard Maalik Wayns scored 21 points while guards Corey Stokes and Corey Fisher each scored 16. Kris Joseph of Syracuse scored 23 points while Rick Jackson scored 16 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. Though third ranked Syracuse fell to 18-2 just half leading 17-2 Villanova by a half game.
