For months basketball fans have talked about Carmelo Anthony leaving. Recently the sources have been saying that the New Jersey Nets are close to figuring out a 3 team trade that would send Anthony, Richard Hamilton and Chauncey Billups to New Jersey. The Nuggets would receive Devin Harris, Derrick Favors, Anthony Morrow and two first round draft picks. Detroit would get Troy Murphy and Johan Petro.

Sources have said that the trade could be finished as soon as this week. Other Players might also be thrown in later. I am not sure that Anthony will re-sign with the Nets though. He would get to play with Billups and Hamilton but they are both old players and he could just wait for the season to end so he could play with Amare Stoudamire with the Knicks.

Another problem is whether or not the Pistons would agree to the trade. They do not wan Petro and they do not want to give up a first round pick.

When I look at this trade that could possibly go down I do not like it. Denver would get some nice pieces with Harris and Favors and a Nets and Pistons first round pick but I’m not sure if Anthony will re-sign with the Nets. If he does, I like it for the Nets but Detroit gets Murphy and Petro or Hamilton and a first round pick. The pick will probably be high and I do not like the trade for them at all.

Carmelo Anthony could be headed to New Jersey with a 3 team deal

Erick Dampier might be headed down to Miami

Erick Dampier had a long post season. He was in the Tyson Chandler trade but then waived by the Charlotte Bobcats. He was talking with the Miami Heat but they decided to pass on him. He was rumored to go to Houston, now Miami has decided not to pass on him. Dampier is now in the Heat’s spotlight after Udonis Haslem was injured. Dampier could be the next NBA player taking his talents to south beach.

Last season with the Dallas Mavericks Dampier only averaged 6 points per game (PPG) and 7 rebounds per game (RPG). He has been in the league for 14 years and has only scored 7,000 points for his career. Not too convincing. Andrew Bogut of the Milwaukee Bucks has only been in the league for 5 years and all ready has 4,300 points.

Dampier might not be a scorer, or even a good player, but he can still come in and help Miami. They need all the help they can get. If he can come in and play power forward for a while while Haslem is out, the team would be in less risk of having to play 16 year veteran Juwan Howard.

My question is this. Is signing another player very smart? They have a rookie Dexter Pittman who might play well if they would actually play him. He might be 6′ 11 1/2”, but that give him a height advantage. It would also save some money which is one thing the Heat need to do.I’m not asking for them to start Pittman, but he had a pretty good college career and he could be good coming off the bench. Even at power forward.

Carmelo Anthony says it's time to move on

For months Carmelo Anthony has been talked about, possible trades have been announced but none have been made. The Nuggets have a $65 million contract extension on the table but after the win over the Utah Jazz, Anthony talked to Yahoo! Sports. Anthony said “If I do nothing now, I’m never going to do anything. I feel like my time is now to make a decision if I want to leave or if I want to stay.” Anthony seems ready to leave Denver. Some of the teams in trade talks include New York, New Jersey and Chicago.

Day one of training camps is down, lets look at it a little
Carmelo Anthony has been in trade talks and rumors for a while. Chicago, Philidelphia, New Jersey and New York have all wanted Melo. In a press conference Carmelo Anthony announced he had never asked to be traded. “This is where I started this is where I am today doing my eighth media day,” Carmelo Anthony said in the press conference. “You know, whatever the future holds it holds,” Anthony said in the press conference. This might mean the Nuggets still have a chance at getting him to stay in Denver. The problem with the 4 team trade I found out was that the Nuggets were going to get more money going to them to be a worse team. The Nuggets are already over the luxury cap. Now what? They were going to get worse with the trade so why pay more to get worse. If Anthony never asked to be traded they could always keep him, but then at the end of the season he would be an unrestriced free agent. Though he did say “at the end of the season I sit down with my team, sit down with the Nuggets, we discuss it,” you notice how he said sit down with the Nuggets? It might mean nothing, but it might mean they’re keeping him.

Tony Parker is a point guard for the San Antonio Spurs. There was some talk this summer about him wanting to go to New York but the former finals MVP set it straight. “I’ve said I wanted to stay in San Antonio, but if San Antonio doesn’t want to keep me I will understand,” says Parker. He later said people said he said this because of his contract year, but Parker says it was because of “Timmy” (Tim Ducan). Parker really seemed like they still had a chance to win a championship. “Timmy is 34, going to be 35. That’s why I feel like this is our last chance to really win a championship” he said later in the conference.

The New Orleans Hornets have changed up their team this off-season to keep their all-star Chris “CP3″ Paul. They got a new coach, Monty Williams, new GM Dell Demps was added and as for players they added Trevor Ariza, Marco Belinelli, Jannero Pargo and Quincy Pondexter. CP3 is excited about his new team so New Orleans has kept an all-star like many other teams.

Carmelo Anthony could be headed to New Jersey on a 4 trade deal

Carmelo Anthony is a 26 year old small forward for the Dever Nuggets. He is a great player but he wants to leave Denver. The Nuggets knowing they cant keep him are trying to trade him. New Jersey, New York and Chicago all want him. Mark Stein reported that a 4 team trade could happen that would have Denver, New Jersey, Utah and Charlotte all in the trade. Everyone wants the trade to be done by Monday so training camps will be ready for them. Media days started yesterday for some teams so the trade might be done this weekend.

There had been lots of talks about the Knicks and the Bulls but Mark Stein said why that was doubtful. “The Knicks just don’t have the trade assets and Chicago just absolutely wont include Joakim Noah in the deal,” says Mark Stein. It is true, Noah is a big factor in Chicago and they wont let go of him. I had been looking at New York awhile back and I thought to myself, who are they going to trade? They had nobody worthy of Carmelo Anthony. New Jersey looks like the right place, they are pretty much New York, he could hang out with New Jersey, and they ave the right players to trade.

Lets talk about the trade, Denver would acquire Andrei Kirilenko and Derrick Favors. New Jersey would acquire Anthony and D.J. Augustin. Charlotte would receive Devin Harris and Jarvis Hayes while Utah would get Quinton Ross and Boris Diaw. The trade looks good to me, but New Jersey wont do it unless Carmelo re-signs with them.

At the end of the upcoming season Anthony will be an unrestricted free agent. Denver wont have him, he would re-sign with New York and maybe Chicago. The question is, will he resign with the Nets. New Jersey doesn’t exactly have a Lebron James or a Dwyane Wade, this trade would make Carmelo Anthony that but who else do they have. They are getting rid of Favors and Harris if this trade goes down. There big 3 would be Anthony, Troy Murphy and Brook Lopez, not too convincing. Carmelo would be leaving an environment where he would be a championship contender to a team that cant make the playoffs. Would you resign? I wouldn’t. If New Jersey doesn’t do the trade, New York cant give the right  pieces and Chicago wont give away Noah, your back to 1. In the end, it will all come down to how much New York means to him. If it means a lot to him, he might want to resign with the Nets.

Carmelo Anthony could land in New Jersey

Carmelo Anthony has been in rumors for a while with rumors of him landing in New York, Chicago and now New Jersey. Chris Broussard says it’s very likely that he will be traded before training camps begin September 23. He also said that it is just speculation and the problem is getting Carmelo to re-sign with the Nets.

Chad Ford said it would take a young Derrick Favors and maybe some expiring contracts to get money out of the way. He also talked about expiring contracts like Troy Murphy and Kris Humphries and a future first round pick from New Jersey.

I think it’d be hard for some of these other teams to get him, Chicago doesn’t want to give up Joakim Noah, Houston might have to give up Yao Ming and New York would have to sacrifice picks as well as players like Danilo Gallinari and Roger Mason. Unless Chicago is willing to give up Noah I see Carmelo wearing a Nets jersey this season.

Denver Talks Carmelo Anthony Trade with Bulls

New York didn't get Lebron, will they even get Melo?

Lebron and Bosh, Wade and James, Boozer and Carmelo?

We walked into free agency with a bunch of different teams trying to get stars, bigger names are Miami, Cleveland, New York and Chicago. Chicago. The Bulls barely made the playoffs last season knocking off Toronto. They took Cleveland to five games and just got better this off-season. Derrick Rose is learning on Team USA while they added Carlos Boozer and Tom Thibodeau. Joakim Noah is a good center who will help Boozer get the boards. But will Chicago get a bigger upgrade?

The Bulls have Taj Gibson coming off their bench. Luol Deng is their starting small forward. The team looks to finish fourth in the Eastern Conference this season. They have good talent but they need that last piece for the puzzle to be contenders.

Back in Denver Carmelo Anthony wants to leave. New York looked good but I’ve been watching the Bulls for a while now. A few weeks ago I heard a rumor that Chicago could trade Luol Deng and Taj Gibson. Most people didn’t care but I watched the Bulls. Now sources are saying that there are trades in the talks. The Nuggets are not sure whether or not to do the trade and the Nuggets GM Masai Ujiri thinks he can keep Melo. I don’t know if or when this trade will go down, but I think by the time we hit the playoffs, Carmelo Anthony will be playing, just not in a Nuggets uniform.

Carmelo Anthony Wants to join the Knicks, but a certain extension is messing it all up

Carmelo Anthony was born in New York. When he was 8 years old his family moved to Baltimore. Carmelo ended up attending college at the University of Syracuse. He led Syracuse to their first championship ever, and was drafted third overall to the Denver Nuggets that summer. As You can tell, Anthony has done a lot in New York, and he wants to go back. People are talking about a divorce and when it will happen, not if. Let me give you the analogy.

So lets say the man is Carmelo Anthony and the woman’s name is Denise Nibb. They have been married for years, but he and Nicole York loved each other since he was young, but after college he left for Denise. The marriage is a nice one but he wants out of it. Now lets say Denise got him a job offer worth about $20,ooo,ooo a year. If he takes the job offer he would not be able to marry Nicole because he cant go to New York with her and she refuses to leave. He has recently seen celebrities named Lebron James and Chris Bosh get divorced and their ex-wives get mad at them. He saw that Lebron gave up everything, his whole life from that city for a better woman. Though Lebron said he hates people in Cleveland to this day and he never really liked Cleveland. So Melo might go to New York with the woman he loves, but the job he would get would give him less money. Now his decision is all about the money he is willing to give up for Nicole York. He is attracted to her, but is he that attracted to her?

Now that you get the point I will tell you the story in real life. He was born in New York and played college ball there. Denver drafted Melo and the team has played well. The coach has cancer though, and the team here will not be a match for the Lakers. He wants to go to New York and play with Amare Stoudamire and Tony Parker. About 2 months ago the Nuggets put a 3 year 65 million dollar contract extension on the table. Melo is now unsure wether he should sign the extension or not. If he does not he can force them to trade him to the Knicks, if he does they can trade him anywhere. By February the trade will probably be finishing up because that will be the trade deadline, but Melo wants to start next season in a different jersey.

This whole story reminds me of the Chris (CP3) Paul story. CP3 wants to leave New Orleans. Reports were that he wanted New Orleans to trade him somewhere else, the trade never went down. Could this Melo story be the same? Carmelo Anthony wants to be traded, but Denver doesn’t want to lose him. I doubt it but he could be leaving in free agency next season.

Now to finish this story I wanted to look at how this would affect the NBA. Lets say he is traded on the deadline. New York would probably come back and finish the season 7th or 8th. Denver would probably finish the year ranked 6th or 7th. That would bump up San Antonio and Portland. San Antonio would go to the second round, lose to LA who would play Dallas in the conference finals and beat a team like Boston or Orlando in the finals.

Sources tell me Rasheed Wallace of the Boston Celtics might not retire after all. He was thinking about retirement, but I guess after getting a man that can be critical in getting a championship brought him back. Rondo is here with Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and now Shaq. Boston also added Jermaine O’Neal to their roster because Kendrick Perkins might miss half of next season. Tony Allen is headed to Memphis but won’t be too big of a loss for Boston. Matt Barnes left Orlando for Los Angeles which makes me think Boston finishes second in the East under Miami. The super team should match up with Boston in the conference finals but every team knows to watch out for Miami. This means Boston will be ready for them. Let’s say Boston advances to the finals to play the Lakers. LA recently acquired Matt Barnes who will help them, and as we know, Phil Jackson always 3-peats. LA fans will be fired up for a great rivalry and be mad at Shaq. Shaq is not be elite and Andrew Bynum is way better than Shaq and Perk. My conclusion is in 7 games the Lakers 3-peat. Now let’s say Miami beats Boston and goes to the finals against LA. Fisher beats Chalmers, Kobe beats D-Wade, Ron Artest plays good D, but is no Lebron, Gasol has better defense than Bosh and actually has played, and won in the finals, and Bynum beats Ilgauskas. Jackson is a way better coach than Erik Spoelstra, actually, I bet when I wrote his name, most of you didn’t know who he was.

My final conclusion is this: No matter who they play, the Los Angeles Lakers are the NBA champions.
